Seaside has been a popular tourist destination since before the turn of the 20th century. After visiting Seaside in 1870, Railroad Tycoon Ben Holladay built the first hotel in Seaside. The luxurious Italian style villa was completed in 1871 with the intent to bring in visitors from the inland. Despite Seaside not being incorporated until 1899, elite upper-class families visited the Seaside House making it a popular vacation destination. Tourism only grew after the famous promenade was built in 1920. While the Seaside Golf Course now sits where the Seaside House once stood, Holladay undoubtedly paved the way for lodging investors in the NW Oregon Coast.

There are now over 22 hotels occupying the small 4.139 mi² piece of land known as Seaside, Oregon. In addition, there are numerous RV Parks, and vacation homes available. With the huge selection of vacation homes, Seaside has to offer, you are sure to find a size, quality, and location that works for you and your group. Choose from beach front, luxury homes or simple cottages for a weekend getaway. A quick Google search will pull up over 1,000 homes to choose from.

If you’re looking to experience some of Seasides abundant nature and greenery, you may consider parking your RV or trailer at an RV park or pitch a tent at one of the available campgrounds in the area. While there are only 3 campgrounds in Seaside, there are multiple scattered throughout the surrounding areas that are all within a 20-minute drive or less. While none of the RV Parks or Campgrounds are on the beach, they all have water close by and, like most places in Seaside, are just a short drive or walk away from the beach and Pacific Ocean. Regardless, all available sites are surrounded by lush greenery, native wildlife and offer up classic camping amenities like fire pits, BBQ’s and nearby trails to check out. The three campsites located in Seaside even offer free wifi, and the Seaside RV Resort and Seaside Thousand Trails Campground have a jacuzzi, pool, and bathrooms on site.

The Seaside Oceanfront Inn is undoubtedly one of the top Boutique hotels in Seaside. Located on The Prom just steps away from the beach, and a mere 3 blocks from the Turnaround and downtown Seaside, the Oceanfront Inn is a place to consider when booking your stay in Seaside. The beautiful hotel is smaller in size with only 14 rooms but has one of the best fine dining restaurants in the area. Maggie’s on The Prom is the in-house restaurant and offers one of two available dining experiences with an unobstructed ocean view.
