The original Oregon Coast vacation destination, Seaside is best known for the Turnaround, Prom and it’s flat sandy beach. That’s only a few of the amazing activities that this beach town has to offer.
Seaside offers amazing opportunities for kayak and SUP boarding. The Necanicum river runs directly through downtown Seaside giving it a Venice like feel. This creates the perfect conditions for kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding.
Feeding the seals at the Seaside Aquarium is a Seaside tradition that dates back more than 80 years! Located just North of the Turnaround not he Seaside Promenade, the Aquarium is the perfect family friendly activity! There you can explore many varieties of Pacific Ocean marine life and many “hands on” and kid friendly activities.

Originally constructed in 1921, the Seaside Promenade is an Oregon Coast landmark. “The Prom” as locals call it, Stretches 1.5 miles along the oceanfront of Seaside and is the perfect place to walk, run, ride a bike or just take in the beautiful scenery. The prom is accessible from 12th Avenue to the North and Avenue U to the South.
The Salt Works is located on Lewis and Clark Way just off the Seaside Promenade. The Salt Works features a replica of a salt-making camp from he 1800’s during the Lewis and Clark expedition and is even said to be located in the same location!
Located in downtown Seaside is the historic Carousel Mall. Inside you will find a historic Carousel featuring many different animals including ponies and sea horses. If you look just South of Seaside you will see Tillamook Head. This headland features a trail connecting Seaside to Ecola State Park which is part of the Oregon Coast Trial. The hike is more than 6 miles long and eventually connects to the Clatsop Loop Trial in Ecola State Park.
